Happy New Year!!

I started this blog about a year ago, and I've never posted anything and regret not posting anything about Bailey's life. I take a ton of pics, but it would have been nice to have some sort of record of the first 9 months of her life. So for 2010, I thought it would be fun to post a weekly update about my family. The title of the blog is important to me because it is a theme that has been with our family since the beginning. Ryan and I went to Jamaica on our honeymoon and Jamaica is where Bob Marley is from, and he sings the "One Love" song which we love. Ryan's mother Jancy, cross stitched a beautiful piece that has the date of our wedding on it, and the words two hearts, one love. She picked it out on her own. And finally, our daughter Bailey loves music, and Bob, seems to be her favorite. She loves the song and dances to it. So, let's get caught up...

Ryan and I met in highschool, fell in love, and got married August 5, 2006. We had a wonderful wedding that was shared with our family and friends. We took a beautiful honeymoon to Jamaica. We bought a house in Lee's Summit and have two beautiful pugs, Pudge and Smudge. Ryan is a 1st grade teacher and I teach dance. I am also finishing my degree in Special Education at UCM. Go Mules!! I am really looking forward to graduating so that I can be in a classroom working with kids-I love to teach!

On March 23, 2009 we welcomed our daughter Bailey Kate to our family. She is amazing!!! Everyday she amazes me in a new way. Ryan and I had no idea that we could love something so much. She is pretty sassy and has us wrapped around her tiny little fingers. I have enjoyed every phase of her life so far, but I'm really looking forward to her talking and walking. Don't get me wrong I cherish each moment with her, but I think it will be fun to talk with her and explore the world through her. Everyday she is gaining independence and learning her limits.

Here are some of her favorites (well mine too) at 9 months old:
Toys: Sophie the giraffe, anything that makes music or sounds, cell phones (she already thinks she needs one) & books
Books: Moo, Baa, La La La, The Dog book, touch and feel books
Foods: Juice of any kind, Banana Bread, fruits, cheese puffs, yogurt, sweet potatoes, turkey
Music: Bob Marley, Rockabye Baby Chimes, The 3 Little Bears Song-Thanks Gma Jancy (if she's upset at all, once we start singing to her or turn her music on she stops)
TV: Some people will think I'm a bad mom for letting her watch tv, but she loves YO GABBA GABBA on NickJr. The show is only 20 mins and I'm able to get a shower in. She loves the music and dancing-I'm ok with it (tv doesn't make you stupid, tv makes you normal-Malcom in the Middle)

Bailey is sitting like a champ! I also think she has abs of steel because she will lift her feet about an inch or two off the floor and roll them around for several minutes. I love it! She army crawls backwards and gets up on all fours and rocks, but she's just not going forward yet. Last night at Uncle John's and Aunt Amy's (my brother & his wife) she found a piece of paper she wanted and John put it in front of her and she pushed her feet and body forward, but didn't get her arms coordinated with it. I know it will be soon. She also learned how to high 5, and wave (she really is waving to her self but she thinks she's pretty cool)

But I have to say my favorite thing about Bailey is her smile-it's just beautiful. She has two teeth on the bottom, and she's getting all four on top, I love when she smiles so big that I can see all six of her teeth.

Well I think this will be a sufficient post! I will try to keep up on this for 2010. I can't wait to see what the new year has in store for us.
